Yes, its true we now OWN a house! We are very excited to be able to paint the walls and to decorate however we want to! So here is how it all happened...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We weren't planning on buying anything right away we just wanted to see what we could afford. So Jimmy stopped by a Century 21 office one day and found a agent. We looked online at houses and decided to call the agent that Jimmy found to see if we could look on the inside of the houses we had found. We didn't find anything that we fell in love with. The first house that we looked at we really liked but weren't in love with. So it was on to looking at more houses. Once we looked at pretty much all the houses in our price range that we decided on, we decided that we should maybe up our price range just a little bit cause we weren't finding anything that we liked. Once we did that, it opend up a whole baunch of new houses to look at. We found 2 houses that we really really liked. It was hard to chose between the two.

(House One, Which was 3bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage. Built in 2006)
(House Two. Which is 4bedroom, 1 bath, 2 car garage)
We feel in love with both of them. We decided to go home and to sleep on it just to decided if either one of them would be something we wanted to buy or not. The next morning we decided we like both of them but the first house we liked a little bit more. So we decided to put a offer in, and it was rejected. So we put in a second offer, and it was accepted! We where really excited. So now we just played the waiting game for them to sign the contract and send it back. Well it was a HUD repo home. So when all the government shut down stuff was happening, it caused us to have to wait longer for the contract. Cause they didn't have the money to pay someone to read the contract and agree to it. Since Jimmy was deployed when they had the first time home buyers tax credit of $8,000,so we are able to still get it, but we have to have a contract by the end of April and it has to be closed by the end of June. So we where on a tight time frame. So we decided that maybe we should just look at see if we would find anything that we would like more or if we just wanted to wait it out with the first home and see if we would make the time frame or not. So we started back at square one, looking at houses. The second house we looked at online it really caught our eye, it had 5 acres of land with it. It was about 8:30 at night and we decided we still had some light so why not go and look at it. So we drove out and just walked around the outside of the house. We decided that we really wanted to see the inside, so we called our agent and set up a meeting the next morning. When we seen the inside and seen how much land it had with it in the day light, we where sold! I didn't want to leave, I was so excited that we could get some farm animals( a little ways down the road that is) I could grow a garden! Plus after living in San Diego for almost 3 years, it would be so nice to have some room to yourself!Yes, Its not as nice as the first house we where going to get. But with a little work it'll be a very nice house.
(House 3. Which is 3 bedroom 2bath, a office and 2 car garage + 5 acres of land)
(House 3. Which is 3 bedroom 2bath, a office and 2 car garage + 5 acres of land)We put in a offer and it was rejected. Our awesome realtor really worked his butt off for us. He thought that they were over priced, he kept talking to them and he got them down a lot, and the a new roof, new pipes, and a pressure tank for the well! He really helped us out! We signed the contract on April 27,2011. We got everything rolling. Hopefully we can close it on time without any problems.
(May 13, 2011)- Well things have been moving along nicely with the house! We had our inspection on May 11, and everything went good! Just like every house there was a couple little things, but nothing big that we have to worry about. We also got to pick out the color for the new roof which should be put on next week sometime. The pressure tank for the well is suppose to be done next week as well. The pipe are already finished. Its exciting that things are moving right along! Can't wait to move, and have a big yard for the dogs!
(May 19, 2011)- Just a update on how things are going. Yesterday, they re-shingled the back half of the roof (onces we're closed we are going to re-shingle the front half). They are still waiting on the pressure tank. Our realtor is still trying to find out about our water rights for the pasture. We got our hard copy of our inspection, and we have to pick out what kind of home warranty we want. But everything is moving right along! (May 26,2011)- Today we got a call from our realtor, and the pressure tank is finally done! They were suppose to do it on Monday, they had everything apart and ready to go, but then the bank appraisler showed up so they had to stop what they where doing. But luckly we still got it taken care this week! So now we are just waiting for all the underwriting stuff to be done. We are suppose to close on Tuesday (May 31st)! So hopefully we'll be able to close then!
(May 28, 2011)- Well we got some news about the house, we won't be closing on Tuesday like we had thought! The morgage company that we're buying the house from forgot to send out the paper for our first time home buyer tax credit, and since its a 3 day weekend they'll have to send it out on Tuesday. So our new closing date is Wednesday. So now hopefully it won't be later then that! I can't wait to move into our new home already! I hate waiting!
(May 29,2011)- Today we bought all of our kitchen appliances! We had to buy a new dishwaster, stove and fridge.
(June 2,2011)- Yah, we finally we closed on the house! We where suppose to close May 31st but the bank didn't have all their underwriting done yet so they pushed it off to Wednesday June 1st. So our awesome realtor put in a extension so we wouldn't miss out on our first time home buyers tax credit. He had to drive all the way to Rigby for me to sign the paper work then he drove back to Idaho Falls Airport so Jimmy could sign the paper work also. So on Wednesday after I got off work I got a text from Jimmy saying that they pushed it back one more day because the underwriter still wasn't done! Our realtor then started to through a fit because the bank wasn't talking with anyone. They didn't let us know until last minute that closing wasn't going to happen. He really fought for us. So finally June 2 rolled around. And we went into Ameri Title at 3:30 and started to sign the closing papers. Half way through the closing I noticed that they had the wrong address on one of the papers. Well it turns out on most of the papers the address was wrong! So we had to stop half way through, and the title lady had to come a call then wait for a call back. But in the end she just needed to print out some new papers. We finally finished signing at 5:30, but since it was after hours we could get it filled right way. So we get the keys tomorrow! (June 3,2011) Its been a very very long wait!
(June 3,2011)- We picked up the keys this morning for our new house! It has a very very long day. We decided that we would go out and just clean the whole house while there is nothing in it. We've cleaned out all the cabinets, both bathrooms, mopped everything, and shampooed all the carpets. So now we are looking at possibly starting painting since nothing is in there yet. Then its on to slowly moving everything over! Yah!
